Under the name: 'In the house of ...' a number of special accommodations around Deventer are rented out. From a B&B for two people to a monumental hunting lodge for 10 people. At In the house of ... you will experience the place as if you were a prominent resident of the past.
Enter a special location as a resident of the past. In the name, in the décor, in the story. You are for a moment Abraham Capadose, Jo Daggert or Teunis Ten Velde.
In the House of Henne v/d Enne
Occasionally you hear a bleating sheep or see a passing cyclist. And as in the 1950s, when Henne still lived here as a gardener's wife, a car is a special feature here. The house of Henne vd Enne is located in the front house of our, former, gardener's farm. The private entrance opens into the old kitchenette that immediately exudes the atmosphere of the 1950s. The granite countertop, the old wood stove and the Formica table.
This atmosphere can also be found in the spacious lounge/bedroom. Of course with a modern bed which we can make up on request as a double bed or two single beds. In the lounge/bedroom you can recover from the walk, the city visit, a bike ride or you just enjoy the tranquility of the former horticultural area. Of course, the B&B has its own toilet and shower. WiFi is available and you can watch TV in your room. We also have two bicycles available for our guests. Breakfast is made by Andrea and Rob. That means Limburg burgundy combined with as many Salland products as possible. Tasty, healthy, generous and made with lots of love!
In the House of Abraham Capadose
On the Oostermaatsdijk 12 and 12a between Bathmen and Okkenbroek are two monumental Hunting Houses. They form the heart of estate the Oostermaat, the largest contiguous forest area near Deventer. You can enjoy walking, cycling, listening or telling stories. You are in the middle of over 100 years of history. And with the old Hanseatic city of Deventer close by.
The house of Abraham Capadose is owned by estate owner IJssellandschap and is rented by us, Andrea and Rob of In the house of.... We decorated the house with love for the place and with the story of its former inhabitants.
Abraham Capadose was president-commissioner of royal oil, today's Shell, around 1900. He bought much of the estate as hunting grounds. In 1907, he had two hunting houses built. The large hunting house he used for himself and his guests when he stayed at the Oostermaat to hunt.
Fully equipped
Over the years, the house has been expanded and equipped with all conveniences. Central heating, two wood stoves, two bathrooms, five bedrooms and a large woodland garden guarantee a pleasant stay. The house can accommodate 10 people. Those who need more space can rent the nearby House of Teunis ten Velde with it and thus have a special stay with 16 people.
In the house of Teunis ten Velde
Between Bathmen and Okkenbroek lies the monumental gamekeeper's house of Teunis ten Velde. Early last century he was the first gamekeeper of the Oostermaat estate, the largest contiguous forest area near Deventer. The house is the smaller of two hunting houses that stand about 15 meters apart in a yard of over 5000 m2. Teunis ten Velde's house is still largely in its original state. Made entirely of wood and heated by one centrally placed wood stove.
You imagine yourself a hundred years back in time!
We have ensured that the entire interior breathes the history of the house. The House of Teunis ten Velde has two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have a double bed (in a room on a mezzanine) and a single bed. The house can thus accommodate 6 guests. However, this way the house is also very cozy for 2 or 4 guests. Perfectly suited to get away from it all and just focus on the important things in life: warmth, good food and enjoying the peace and quiet.
