Terrace Top 100: these 4 terraces from the Hanseatic cities are in it

Every year Misset Horeca publishes the Terrace Top 100: a ranking of the best 100 terraces in the Netherlands. Entrepreneurs can register, and an independent jury then passes judgment. The battle for the Terrace Top 100 2023 is still in full swing, but in 2022 no less than four terraces from the Hanseatic cities managed to secure a spot in the list.
Huis Vermeer Deventer
At number 9 in the Misset Horeca Terrace Top 100 of 2022 is Grand Boutique Hotel-Restaurant Huis Vermeer. It is located right in the center of Deventer and has a front terrace as well as a courtyard garden. So there is always enough room for everyone to sit outside on the terrace in the sun and enjoy lunch, drinks or dinner with seasonal and local produce from the area. The restaurant and terrace are open every day from noon for coffee, lunch or drinks. From 17.30 you can go there for dinner. Would you like to stay overnight afterwards? In one of the eleven four-star rooms or two Grand Suites you will sleep like a rose. Reservations can be made via the website.
The Agnietenberg in Zwolle
Sitting on the terrace in the middle of nature and yet close to the city? That is possible at De Agnietenberg in Zwolle. Last year, thanks to its beautiful terrace, the restaurant was number 36 in the Terrace Top 100. You can pick a spot on the terrace every day from 10 a.m. for lunch, high tea or drinks. A perfect stopover during a walking or biking tour. Want to eat outside in the evening? Of course you can at De Agnietenberg. No sultry but cool summer evening? The heaters still provide summer temperatures on the terrace. Through the website you can reserve a table.
In den Hoofdwacht in Zwolle
The brasserie and wine bar In Den Hoofdwacht also managed to score a spot in the Misset Horeca Terrace Top 100 last year. The terrace on the Grote Markt in the center of Zwolle was number 62 in 2022. For fresh, local and mostly organic dishes, In Den Hoofdwacht is the place to be. You can get there from Tuesday to Sunday from 12:00 for lunch, drinks or dinner. A glass of soda, wine, whiskey or special beer makes your afternoon or evening on the terrace complete. This terrace also has heaters, so you can enjoy your drink, lunch or dinner outside in the winter or on cold summer evenings. Unfortunately, it is not possible to reserve a spot on the terrace, so walk by to see if there is a free table.
The Wine House Zwolle in Zwolle
Are you an avid wine lover? Then the terrace Grand Café Het Wijnhuis in Zwolle is the perfect place to settle down. You will enjoy more than 42 wines and all kinds of appetizers at the number 86 of the Terrace Top 100. Hot drinks, soft drinks and beers are also on the menu. Big appetite? Then lunch or dinner on the terrace is also an option! The view of the big church completes the picture. Opening hours vary daily and reservations can be made by email or phone.
Would you rather sit by the water? In Zwolle you can sit at several places by the water on the terrace. The other Hanseatic cities also have plenty of nice eateries where you can grab a bite to eat. And you will find many more terraces where you can have a great time on a summer day.
